While previously seen as unattainable by Brewer Attorneys, they tried to exploit the controversial district split and decided to sue Keller ISD in an attempt to force the district into single member districts or a hybrid way of voting for School Board Trustees. Previously, school districts like Lewisville ISD have settled similar lawsuits with Brewer Attorneys accepting their terms instead of pushing back. Single member districts in Texas, while thought by some to be a more fair way of representation appear to have an unusually high takeover rate by TEA. Thanks to "Sheriff Tim Davis" this case was dismissed with prejudice by the Judge, requiring the plaintiff to repay the district for their lost attorneys fees ($250,000). In addition, the Judge called the suit frivolous and stated the plaintiff and Brewer Attorneys must report by Feb 5, 2026 as to why they should not be sanctioned. Sadly, the plaintiff plans to appeal potentially costing Keller ISD more money.
